Why Systems Create Ease | Virtual Assistant for Photographers

We’ve all been there before. Sitting in the busy airport, fingers clicking away on your laptop. Or staying up late in the hotel room, just trying to plow through the end of editing. Answer all the emails. Make sure inquiries don’t fall between the cracks. And this… is why systems create ease.

Hear me out: you are an artist first, yes. But part of allowing yourself to get back to the art is creating systems in your business to HOLD YOU if you need to step away. Flying by the seat of your pants is costing you money and leaving ideal clients on the table.

If you're going on "vacations" only to bring your laptop and edit the whole time, this one is (lovingly) for you.

Systems are like a spiderweb throughout your business.

They take what you're already repeatedly doing and streamline them. So when life happens, you can step away without your business falling apart.

Earlier this year I found myself in the hospital with my baby for a full week. He had a major surgery, and there was no way I would mentally or emotionally be available to run my business for that week or two. So I built systems and outsourced so that things could float successfully while I was away. I was able to stay present and focus on my baby during that whole time, which was absolutely crucial for my personal life.

There will be moments in life where you need to step back from your business…

And those are not the times to build systems. You build them now, so the spiderweb can hold you when the difficult life moments come along. I was able to sit with my 9month old baby in the ICU… navigate the sleepless nights at his side… and hold him for his weeks of recovery, without the stress of losing my business. It all whirred on without me for that time period.

You can create systems through your CRM, through outsourcing, through automating social media posts, and through clear communication around expectations with clients.

Systems are everywhere.

Life happens. And that's okay! That's normal. Whether it's a vacation or a medical emergency, you need to be able to step away from your business.

Your systems will save you.

They are there for you. They are the backbone of your business and what you come back to time and time again.
