Getting Ghosted? | Virtual Assistant for Photographers

If you’re a photographer in any niche, chances are you’ve been ghosted, right? Your mind starts wondering of something is wrong with you, your art, your business etc. It can be SO FRUSTRATING when people just don’t respond. OR, they drop off the face of the Earth when they see your pricing.

But, guess what?! It happens to EVERYONE. EVERYONE. The best of the best. It’s just the day and age we are in. My best advice? Make sure you have a mindset not to take it personally! Sometimes people don’t like confrontation (which they can see a “no” as confrontational) OR sometimes people are just busy.

Try to give your potential clients the benefit of the doubt and don’t let it be personal.

But you didn’t think I was gonna leave you there, did I? I’m a practical girlie and if you’re getting ghosted regularly, here are things you DO have control over:

  • Make sure you are following up with them 3-4x. Most people don’t respond until multiple follow ups, that’s just the attention span now

  • Make sure you have personal and engaging  copy in your emails

  • Make your pricing guide clear and beautiful, no one wants to dig through a ton of info

  • Have a clear inquiry and booking process, you want them to feel guided

  • Find ways to show off your value (linking blog posts, directing to IG etc) along the way

  • Follow up a few months after their inquiry before you close out the project so they feel comfortable reaching out in the future.

Ready To Outsource In Your Photography Business?!

And, if you don’t have the time or automation to follow-up, want a new pricing guide in Honeybook or Dubsado, or just need an extra set of eyes on the backend of your business, let us help you! As virtual assistants for photographers, I want you to have the photography business and life of your dreams. The life you deserve!
